REETHAMMA

Reethamma, the Valliapengal,
says Papa, left home to join the convent as he was still a baby.
He remembers her only
clad as a nun in the silent premises of the convent.

Reethamma aunty was an admirer of Msgr. Panjikaran,
with whom she often corresponded and whose advice she often sought.
In the carmelite convent at Muttom, Cherthala
where she spent many years
as a nun, she had the fortune to follow the example and to get the advice of
three other Panjikaran sisters,
two of them her own aunts, appai's sisters.
Born on 19.11.1928
she left us for ever on 07.01.1984.
Neither Patrick nor Basil was lucky to see her.
